G-Recorder usage

After G-Recorder has been successfully installed and configured, Skype conversations are saved in your Gmail account automatically. If you selected “Export existing chat history to Gmail” option, G-Recorder will start to upload your local Skype chat history. This may take some time depending on the volume of your history.

Please note that Trial version exports Skype history not older than 2 weeks, while Full version doesn’t have any limitations.

G-Recorder represents its state through the following tray icon notifications:

G-Recorder running iconG-Recorder is running

G-Recorder recording iconG-Recorder is recording your Skype call

G-Recorder disconnected iconG-Recorder is not connected to Gmail or Skype

Even in a process of saving to Gmail you can place new calls or chats and they will be recorded.

The below picture shows how Skype conversations look naturally in Gmail:

You have two new labels “Skype calls” and “Skype chats” on the left. Your chats and calls are combined into conversations for your convenience. And Skype call recordings can be played just in place without downloading them!

You can work with your saved conversations as easily as with any e-mail. To quickly access calls or chat history in Gmail just double click G-Recorder tray icon or open G-Recorder tray menu for more options:

If you would like to change G-Recorder settings (i.e. recording options or Gmail credentials), the settings dialog is also accessible from the menu.

One more G-Recorder killing feature is viewing all past conversations (calls and chats) with a selected Skype contact. You can view Skype conversations made from different computers in one window! Just click on “Extra” button in Skype conversation window and select “View past conversations in Gmail”:
